Dear Parents and Carers,
We trust you have had an enjoyable break and look forward to a busy term ahead.
The Week Ahead
In Literacy, we will be reading the story ‘Jack and the Jelly Bean Stalk’ by Rachael Mortimer. We will write sentences describing the different flavours of jelly beans in the story and introduce the use of commas in a list. For example, ‘There were banana, chocolate, strawberry and egg flavoured jelly beans in the bag’. Later in the week, we will be re-telling the story in our own words and creating a different story ending.
In Maths, we will be measuring weight and volume. This term, we will also be working on multiplication and division facts for the two, five and ten times tables. The children might enjoy revising their tables at home using the links below.
In our IPC lessons this term, we will be learning about flowers and insects. This week we will be observing a range of different flowers and sketching and painting them in detail. The children will also be planting seeds and talking about what plants need in order to grow.
