Week beginning 16th July

Dear Parents and Carers,

It’s hard to believe that the final week of the summer term is upon us!

The highlight of our week was our trip to Brighton Sea Life on Wednesday. We had a great time looking at the amazing sea creatures and also enjoyed a picnic lunch on the beach. Thank you to the parents who assisted us on our trip.

The Week Ahead

In Literacy, we will be reading ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ by Giles Andreae. The children will be writing their own rhyming poems about sea creatures and will also write a ‘Who am I poem’, describing a sea creature of their choice.

In Maths, we will be learning about time. The children will use ‘before’ and ‘after’ to describe, sort and order events. They will also use the language: morning, afternoon and evening. Later in the week, we will introduce time to the hour and half hour, discussing the minute and hour hands on an analogue clock.

In IPC, we will be making and decorating paper plate jellyfish. We will also be discussing endangered animals and talking about the reasons certain animals become endangered.

We hope you have a fantastic summer and look forward to seeing you in September!
