Week beginning 14th May

Dear Parents and Carers,

The highlight of our week was our trip to Park Hill Park on Wednesday. We enjoyed ‘hunting’ for many different flowers and also had fun sketching some of the flowers and playing in the play area. We were certainly lucky with the lovely sunny weather! Thank you to those parents who helped out on the trip.

The Week Ahead

In Literacy, we will be reading ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson. The children will be writing a poem about Superworm using suffixes and creating a ‘Lost’ poster using adjectives to describe Superworm. Later in the week, they will be writing an additional page in the story.

In Maths, the children will explore doubling with numbers up to 20. They will use their understanding of doubling to carry out reasoning and problem solving activities.

The links below have some useful doubling games that the children might enjoy.

In IPC we will be learning about trees. The children will be drawing and labelling a diagram of a tree. They will also be looking at a range of different leaves and learning how to identify the trees these leaves might belong to.

Trip to the Croham Hurst Woods – Wednesday 23rd May.

Thank you for your continued support.
