We have reached the start of the third week and we are still in the honeymoon period. Hopefully we will be for several months!
I saw lots of wonderful work last week and pupils have started the term brilliantly. For some of them, this year will be a real challenge. Year 6 have the challenge of finding a secondary school, possibly sitting exams and in a years time moving on to somewhere new. Foundation Stage children have moved in to year 1 and I think that is one of the hardest moves they will ever make. On Wednesday 60 new foundation stage pupils will be joining us for the first time.
It is very important for all our children that they are happy and know that they have someone to talk to. Please do encourage your child to talk about school. Try and make it a positive conversation with questions about the best part of the day, what they learnt during the day and was there anything they found challenging. I am sure that many of you will get grunts and ‘it was ok’ answers but gradually most will open up!
On Friday we have our tag rugby festival at Whits and the following week will be our cross country championships at the same venue. We are just waiting confirmation from the rugby club before sending details out.
